Every year the local newspaper, The Review Journal, runs a contest for the Best of Las Vegas in several categories. Local residents vote each and every day for a period of time and then votes are tallied. The winners were announced on November 12th to the public and Assistance League of Las Vegas is very proud to announce that the Thrift Shop won Gold for Best Thrift or Consignment Shop in Las Vegas and the chapter won Silver (Finalist) for Best Non-Profit in Las Vegas! They are thrilled beyond words!
Above are several photos from the celebratory meeting/party on Monday, November 13th as well as the winning logos. Cake, balloons, gold and silver necklaces were tossed out and of course all brought into the room to the song 24 Carat Gold by Bruno Mars! The representative from the newspaper joined members for the celebration and shared some wonderful thoughts from his heart about our organization.
Joanie McCarty (gold hat) and Ann Zappa (gold vest & hat) are pictured together (our two fearless leaders of the shop) as well as the back of store and special sales ladies!
