The Jean Cole Scholarship

Jean Cole was a founding member of our chapter in 1994.  She  served as a Board member in many different positions throughout her years of membership in ALAV.

She was a kind and compassionate member always focused on helping those in need. Fundamentally a shy person although not evidenced by her hearty laugh.   Her dedication to the community along with her kind and caring heart made Jean a friend to all.

Jean was awarded the Ada Edwards Laughlin Award in 2009. This award is given to very special individuals for their continued behind the scene service to their chapter and their community.

According to her husband, Bob, Jean’s legacy was always caring and offering assistance to those in need. This scholarship was created in her honor as Jean definitively would have supported the establishment of ALAV scholarships to help the next generation.

The Jean Cole Scholarship annually provides $2,500 in funding to help cover the cost of tuition, books and supplies.
