Assistance League of Austin’s Outreach Program was recently awarded a $20,000 grant from All Together ATX. This fund was created by a coalition of philanthropic leaders across the community to provide flexible resources to organizations working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus and the economic consequences of the outbreak. This grant is hosted by the Austin Community Foundation and United Way for Greater Austin. The Outreach Program, in partnership with Austin Voices for Education and Youth provided rental assistance to families in need.
One recipient of the rental assistance drove to Assistance League’s Chapter House and handed a thank you note to a member who happened to be there that day. She was extremely grateful and said that her child had also received clothing from Operation School Bell® in the past. The note warms our heart and reminds us why we do what we do.
