Denver – Assistance League Hospital Equipment Lending Program Partners with Colorado Coalition for the Homeless

Assistance League of Denver Hospital Equipment Lending Program (HELP) is partnering with Colorado Coalition for the Homeless to provide durable medical equipment to individuals with mobility needs who are working to overcome homelessness.

The donated equipment includes wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, and other items, available free of charge for as long as it is needed. Much of the equipment is being sent to individuals living in local hotels where the Coalition is providing emergency housing to people experiencing chronic homelessness and who need a setting to recuperate from COVID-19, or to protect those who are at high risk of poor outcomes or death from COVID-19. The equipment will enable each individual to be as independent as possible as they progress toward greater stability.

Assistance League of Denver HELP has provided durable medical equipment free of charge to the Denver community for over 30 years. Equipment is provided to seniors, lower income individuals, and other homebound members of the Denver Community, as well as those experiencing homelessness. The mission is to help people improve their mobility after surgery or when there is medical need, targeting the underserved in the Denver area. As the community continues to be challenged by the pandemic, the need for services has increased.
