El Paso – Shopping with an Assisteen for Back to School

Assistance League of El Paso’s Assisteens® gave up two days of their summer break to make sure some local children-in-need got the clothing they will need to go back to school.  Assisteens held a fundraiser to raise money to take children living in La Posada Home on a shopping spree.

Twenty-five children and their mothers spent several hours at Target picking out just the right school outfits.  They also picked out shoes, socks, undergarments and a pair of pajamas.

Giving back is what the Assisteens is all about. This group of 66 middle and high school students spend three Saturdays each month mentoring the children at La Posada Home, with the hope of making a positive impact on the young lives of these children living in a difficult situation.
