Greater Portland – Hosts Operation School Bell

On Thursday, February 7, Assistance League of Greater Portland will sponsor a “Shop with the HOPS” event at the Hillsboro Fred Meyer, 6495 S.E. Tualatin Valley Highway.

Volunteers with the organization, accompanied by Hops mascot Barley, will host a new clothes shopping spree for Hillsboro middle school and high school students in need.

The organization has provided new clothes to school children through its Operation School Bell® program for 20 years. To date, Assistance League has donated clothes to more than 25,000 local school children.

In addition to its clothing program, Assistance League of Greater Portland offers activities to troubled teens, provides personal history books for foster and abused children and other programs.

The organization is funded through the Assistance League Thrift and Consignment Shops, 4000 S.W. 117th Ave., in Beaverton.
