Huntington Beach – Assistance League Starting off a New Year in the 4th of July Neighborhood Parade

What an incredible way to begin our 2021-2022 year – in the 2021 Huntington Beach Surf City Dreamin’ Neighborhood Parade. Assistance League was represented by six of their members:

Chrys Vollmer – 2020-2021 Chapter President, Maggie Mihalovich – 2021-2022 Chapter President, Cynthia Anderson – DreamCatchers auxiliary, Linda Chrisman – Assisteens®, Stephanie Klauss – Beach Blossoms committee and Diane Dwyer – HB Community Grand Marshal. Each member represented an important part of what makes Assistance League Huntington Beach successful. The extra special bonus was having member Diane Dwyer as the HB Community Grand Marshal. The Community Grand Marshal represents volunteers across the community.

Although Huntington Beach was not able to have their traditional 4th of July parade, the Neighborhood Parade was a very cool experience as this parade consisted of three routes; each route going to a different part of Huntington Beach. The parade went to members of the community rather than members of the community coming to the parade. Several organizations were represented in the parade with Assistance League being one of the few nonprofits. With our history of participating in the parade going back to 2013, it was great to keep the tradition alive.
