Long Beach – Assisteens Provide 10,000 Meals

Local students participating in Assistance League of Long Beach’s Assisteens® Auxiliary are helping to provide 10,000 meals to fellow students whose families are in need of food.

The Operation School Bell® Adopt a Family Student Food Program held a recent meal creation event where Long Beach Unified School District students, staff and other volunteers assembled care packages.

“What an honor to stand alongside this incredible group of local high school students to pack 5,000 packets and 10,000 meals for families in Long Beach who are experiencing food insecurity,” LBUSD Deputy Superintendent of Schools Jill Baker said. “Big thanks to Assistance League of Long Beach and Assisteens for your leadership and commitment to our community. Our LBUSD team loved being with you!”
