IRVINE – The 26th annual Young Masters Art Show, put on by the Assistance League of Irvine, kicks off 1 p.m. Saturday at Irvine City Hall.
There’s no cost to attend the opening-day festivities for the exhibit, called “Imagination: Pathway to the Future,” which is slated to run through May 12.
Starting Saturday, artwork by more than 500 students from each Irvine Unified School District classroom from kindergarten to sixth grade will be displayed at City Hall.
Since Assistance League’s Irvine chapter established the art show in 1990, artwork by more than 14,000 students has been showcased, said President Michelle Tuchman, in a press release.
She estimated the three-hour event would draw about 3,500 attendees to 1 Civic Center Plaza.
Irvine Unified, Irvine’s city government, Arts Orange County and Imagination Celebration of Orange County collaborated on the exhibit.
The event Saturday will also feature arts activities, live entertainment, refreshments and children’s activities directed by Assisteens, students who volunteer for Assistance League.
The students’ work will remain on display for two weeks.
