In celebration of National Volunteer Week, Assistance League of Montgomery County recently held a luncheon to honor its volunteers.  Among those attending were Advisory Council members, Judge Kathleen Hamilton, and John Husbands, along with his mother, Georgia, who is a long time member of the chapter.  Community Volunteers from Bentwater Ladies Organization, a local residential neighborhood, were also honored.  These ladies volunteer their time in the thrift shop pricing and sorting items for sale in the shop, assembling our Poison Information – Always Ask™ school packets, and any other tasks that we ask of them.  They are super volunteers with “hearts that care and hands that share”.  Also attending were Larry Loft and Jerry Whitehouse, two of our valuable Community Volunteers who pick up and deliver furniture and many other “Mr. Fixit” chores around our shop.  Members of the chapter were also invited to enjoy the delicious salad and dessert luncheon as they are the foundation of our chapter.  It was a great way to say “thank you” to all who help us in so many ways to improve the lives of “all” residents of our community.
