NORMAN — A new Walmart Supercenter opened Wednesday at 3651 Classen Blvd. The new store will employ up to 300 full-time and part-time associates.
“We are excited to open and serve the Norman community, just in time for the spring and Memorial Day,” said Mark Deisering, store manager.
The Norman Supercenter has a full grocery store and full-service pharmacy. The store is about 187,000 square feet.
Applicants interested in careers at Walmart can apply at a store’s hiring kiosk or online at Walmartcareers.com. Deisering began his Walmart career in 1993 as an hourly associate at a store in Moore.
The grand-opening celebration for the new store included a presentations of more than $3,000 in grants from Walmart to local community groups including Assistance League of Norman, Children’s Miracle Network, Food and Shelter, Inc., and Noble High School PTA.
