Phoenix – Reopens Valley Thrift Boutique

The store helps fund critical programs for families. One of those programs is Operation School Bell®. They give new shoes, pants, shirts and hygiene kits to thousands of children in Title One schools. Because of the coronavirus outbreak, they had to stop the program in March.

Aimee Runyon, CEO of Assistance League of Phoenix, says the hope is they can get their Delivering Dreams Bus to come to schools in the fall, so kids can still get those much-needed items.
“We’re really anticipating a larger need then there was before with unemployment rising daily,” Runyon said. “We know there are a lot of families being urged to apply for the free/reduced lunch program which means the number of eligible at schools is going to increase.”
