Redlands – Sews Masks to Protect Children

In the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic, when shops are closed and many are home with their families, Assistance League of Redlands members sewed 468 masks for children.

In late April, a local, private nonprofit organization contacted Assistance League of Redlands requesting help in making masks for the children of Redlands. Hoa Bui, philanthropic programs vice president, organized the project.

Front door deliveries and pick-ups were made. For three weeks, members Becky Kasten, Hoa Bui, Christie Christopher, Gayleen Skaggs, Mary Saba, Gail Smith, Michelle Pham and Judie Appleton, along with friends Sarah De Almeida, Melissa Pitcher and Lori Shelffo along with Assisteens Auxiliary members Noel Nguyen, Ava Delgado and Josie Faulkner sewed the masks.
