The Barney & Barney Foundation’s 5thAnnual Orange County Golf Classic took place on December 5th at Dove Canyon Country Club. Golfers from across Southern California teed off in support of two local non-profit organizations – Assistance League of Santa Ana and Mariposa Women & Family Center. In turn, they were treated to a beautiful day on the course, stylish new Travis Mathew apparel, and new and exciting activities provided by our generous corporate sponsors. The Barney & Barney Foundation hosts the golf tournament each year to raise awareness and fundraise for local non-profit organizations. Since its inception in 2009, the Barney & Barney Foundation has awarded over $2 Million in charitable grants. This year, the Foundation awarded a total of $70,000 to Assistance League of Santa Ana and Mariposa Women & Family Center.
Assistance League of Santa Ana strives to assist underprivileged children and their families. Over 2,750 children, teens, and seniors have received help from their programs, whether it be their subsidized dental care program or their nationally acclaimed Operation School Bell, which provides children with new school uniforms and backpacks. Assistance League of Santa Ana will use their funds to continue their programs and better serve the children of Santa Ana..
Mariposa Women & Family Center empowers women and families to achieve positive changes in their lives through high quality, low-cost mental health and substance abuse supportive services. Their grant will help fund the continuum of life-changing programs and counseling services, such as their SPIN (Substance Prevention and Intervention) program.
