Santa Clarita – Holds Mini-Conference

Assistance League Santa Clarita held its sixth annual Mini-Conference At College Of The Canyons Friday morning, to help inform and educate its members about how Assistance League philanthropic programs have supported their own efforts to better support the Santa Clarita community.

“This event is for our Assistance League members to help us look at what we’re doing and how we can do it better,” Public Relations Chair said. “(It’s) how we can strengthen our community.”

The conference hall amassed over 50 members, held two panel discussions and provided multiple discussion topics  for its members to share ideas in order to make the Assistance League Santa Clarita a better organization, according to officials.

Guest panel speakers included representatives from the Santa Clarita Convalescent Hospital, Newhall Elementary, Community partners such as Gerard Cosmetics and Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary.

“Our residents are so blessed to have an organization like this in the community.” Activities Director at Santa Clarita Convalescent Hospital, Marisol Aldana said.

Assistance League Santa Clarita helps school children, seniors and others in the Santa Clarita Valley with services that are purely on a volunteer basis, according to ALSC President Linda Likins. “There isn’t one person on staff that is paid.”

“We put everything we make to transform this community to transform lives,” Public Relations Chair, Helen Barlow added.

The mission of Assistance League Santa Clarita is a volunteer organization that develops and implements programs to make a difference in the lives of families in our community, according to Assistance League Santa Clarita members.
