Tradition of Generosity Prompts GM Co-workers to Donate $26,000 to Assistance League:  Donation Honors Late Co-worker Kelly Price

Although Kelly Price died of cancer in 2001, her legacy continues to make life better for others. Her former colleagues and co-workers at GM World Headquarters honor her annually with a bowling event to benefit local charities for children.

The 16th annual Kelly J. Price Memorial Bowling Party generated a $26,000 donation to Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan. This generous donation will provide new winter coats, clothes, and/or necessities to children in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties, through Operation School Bell®, the signature program of Assistance League.

Assistance League volunteers sold tickets and helped at the bowling benefit which was held at Astro Lanes in Madison Heights, Mich.

Barbara Donohoe, who accepted the donation on behalf of Assistance League, was amazed by the enduring admiration Price’s friends have for her. Each year, they designate a worthy charity to benefit from their generosity. Donors and friends in attendance included Bob Lutz, former GM executive.

“Kelly Price continues to be remembered by her friends and family, who generously support her charitable spirit. Assistance League is honored to be the recipient of this donation,” Donohoe said.
