Sleigh Bell Benefit, the signature fundraising event for Assistance League of Southwest Washington, is set for Monday, December 7, at the Vancouver Hilton. Doors open at 10 a.m. for a champagne reception and shopping at the silent auction and boutiques. Lunch is served at noon. The popular event provides a significant percentage of the funding for local programs of the all-volunteer organization, including:
- New clothing for teens in foster care
- Clothes and literacy supplies for kids in high-poverty elementary schools
- Sponsorships for youngsters needing early intervention or orthotic devices
- Assault Survivor Kits that provide new clothes to those treated in local hospital emergency rooms.
Boutiques featuring new and new-to-you items including jewelry, scarves, handbags and hostess gifts generally sell out, so attendees are urged to come early to shop and to bid on silent auction items.
