ix high school seniors and 10 organizations received scholarships and grants totaling $32,000 during the Rotary Club of West St. Louis County’s annual community awards banquet.
Other honors also recognized the organization’s picks for Business of the Year, Collegiate Volunteer Leadership and Excellence in Education awards.
Scholarship recipients included Mahnoor Malik from Parkway West, Kassidy Webb from Eureka, Emily Kreitman from Marquette, Branson Fox from Valley Park, Julia Romero from Lafayette, and Kurtis Weatherford from Parkway South.
Grant recipients included Caring Solutions, Circle of Concern’s scholarship and Run Circles Around Hunger programs, Brace for Impact, Assistance League, CHAMP Assistance Dogs, Lafayette Industries, St. Louis Boys Baseball Association, Belize Mission Society and the Missouri Dental Association Foundation.
Business of the Year recognition went to Blue Chip Pest Control of Fenton. Christopher Colletti, a student at Saint Louis University, received the Collegiate Volunteer Leadership award. The Excellence in Education award went to Marquette High language arts teacher Laurie Schultz.
