Assistance League of Greater Placer members held their Fall Tea and “Fashions on a Budget” fundraiser this year at the Rocklin Event Center in Rocklin.  Each year in October, this event attracts 400 ladies who, for a few hours, enjoy delicious food and wonderful company and watch a fabulous fashion show.  Guests dress trendy, with some wearing fashionable hats displaying flower, feathers and lace.  Everyone admires the forty uniquely set tables before enjoying a traditional afternoon tea served by Assistance League members.

The “Fashion on a Budget” showcases our members as interim stylish fashion models wearing gently used clothing from our thrift shop.  Excitement ensues when, MC Nancy Tagnazzini, begins the show after she gains everyone’s attention with her insightful humor and her gift of engaging an audience.

Our fashion models show every bit of style and grace showing off their coveted outfits.  The stylish clothes are for sale after the fashion show.  This fundraiser helps fund our philanthropic programs.

Assistance League members accomplished many acts of caring and commitment in 2015.  They provided 1,369 children with new clothing and shoes through Operation School Bell,®; provided 2,420 children with new backpacks and school supplies; awarded $8,000 for community college scholarships; supplied 2,000 teddy bears to hospitals and California Highway Patrol for traumatized children; and enjoyed 1,200 hours visiting senior care residents.  Members donated a total of 36,479 service hours and touched the lives of more than 11660 people in Placer County communities.
