Hemacinto – Presents Pat Brudin with Ada Edwards Laughlin Award

Pat Brudin of Assistance League of Hemacinto received the Ada Edwards Laughlin Award at a recent luncheon held in her honor. Pat is a founding chapter member with 40 years of service. Pat is well known for her handcrafted items working year-round on the chapter’s annual Holiday Boutique.

In addition, Pat spent hundreds of hours creating decorations for the Christmas trees raffled off at the annual Gala, coming up with the tree themes and supervising the many volunteers necessary. Her friend Mary Lee Fricker stated “We met every Wednesday morning at Pat’s house, beginning in October.  This was after Pat had spent hundreds of hours behind the scenes getting everything ready.  Every year she somehow managed to come up with five different themes for the trees.  When we arrived, all the bits and pieces would be laid out in front of our chairs for us to sew and glue together.  Pat is a master organizer and also a perfectionist.  I suspect after we left, she redid some of our work because it did not pass quality control.  Pat was a champion fundraiser!”

Assistance League of Hemacinto is pleased to recognize Pat Bruin with this award.
