Beginning August 2019, Avalon K-12 School will implement a School Uniform Policy similar to those in effect at other Long Beach Unified School District schools. The following are general uniform guidelines by grade level:
Tops
TK to 4—Colors: White, Lt Blue, Navy. Style: Solid color, collared shirt, button-up, polo or blouse.
Grade 5-8—Colors: White, Light Blue, Royal, Gold/Yellow. Style: Solid color, collared shirt, button-up, polo or blouse.
Grade 9-12: Colors: White, Light Blue, Royal, Gold/Yellow. Style: Collared shirt, button-up, polo shirt, blouse, Spirit Wear or College T-Shirt.
Bottoms
TK-4—Color: Navy or Black. Style: Pants, shorts, skorts, skirts, jumpers, leggings.
Grade 5-8: Color: Khaki, Navy or Black. Style: Pants, shorts, skorts, skirts, leggings.
Grade 9-12—Color: Khaki, Navy, Black, or Blue Jeans. Style: Jeans, trousers, shorts, skorts, skirts, leggings
Sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies
TK-4—Color: Solid Blue or School/ Island logo. Style: Pull over, cardigan, zip-up or hoodie.
Grade 5-8—Color: Solid Blue or Grey or School/Island/College logo. Style: Pull over, cardigan, zip-up or hoodie.
Grade 9-12: Color: Solid Blue, Grey or Black or School/Island/ College logo. Style: Pull over, cardigan, zip-up or hoodie.
To help families transition to the new school uniform policy, Assistance League of Long Beach is providing a free uniform for every Avalon student in grades TK-12. All students will receive a backpack in August filled with several uniform pieces including pants, shirts, and a hoodie.
