At a recent meeting, Assistance League of Montgomery County named Ute Rowe, Communities in Schools Site Coordinator for Conroe High School as this year’s winner of the Operation School Bell® Award. Communities in Schools is the nation’s leading organization empowering students to stay in school and achieve in life. Ute dedicates her life to CIS’s mission. Ute’s relationship with Assistance League’s Montgomery County chapter began in 2011 when she started working with us to secure Walmart vouchers for students at her school who needed new school clothes. That role has grown and grown over the last four years.
Janet Sheahan, 2017-2018 president, described Ute as “the epitome of an individual who gives her life to make a difference and is, therefore, perfect as an Operation School Bell Award recipient.”
Ute tells our chapter members over and over how grateful she is and that we are a “true blessing”; we would turn around and say that Ute Rowe is a true blessing to our chapter and to our community as she helps students stay in school and turn their circumstances around so they have a better chance of succeeding in life.
