Temecula Valley- Receives Subaru “Share the Love”

Assistance League of Temecula Valley receives a $34,722 donation from John Hine Temecula Subaru with Assistance League President Denise Lanier, John Hine Temecula Subaru General Manager Bill Brumbaugh, Austin Barwner, Brian Derbyshire, Kevin Ohler, Magaly Rivera and Dorcas Shaktman, Assistance League vice president of finance.

Bill Brumbaugh, vice president and general manager of John Hine Temecula Subaru, likes to surprise Assistance League of Temecula Valley, and surprise them he did at the chapter’s annual meeting when he unveiled the proceeds – $34,722 – from the “Share the Love” campaign from November to January. This amount included $32,222 in donations from customers who purchased a new Subaru and an additional $2,500 donation from John Hine Temecula Subaru. The donation will provide for Assistance League’s Operation School Bell® program to purchase new clothing for 278 students who live in poverty.

Assistance League has been the beneficiary of “Share the Love” since 2013, and each year the amount donated to Assistance League through the program has grown significantly. The event begins each year in mid-November and runs for six weeks until the beginning of January. Each dealership may choose a local nonprofit organization as a partner for the campaign. Each customer that purchases a Subaru chooses a charity to receive a $250 donation from Subaru.

This year Assistance League of Temecula Valley said they were honored to have Brumbaugh; his team Kevin Ohler, the director of marketing; Magaly Rivera, service manager and internet director, and guests from corporate Subaru Austin Barwner, district sales manager of North America and Brian Derbyshire, district parts service manager, attend.

“We are truly appreciative of the continuing support of John Hine Temecula Subaru,” Electra Demos, Assistance League past president and community ambassador, said. “The funds received from the ‘Share the Love’ event will enable Assistance League to reach out to more children and families in need.”

The membership appreciates John Hine Temecula Subaru for their continued support. Each year their donation allows Operation School Bell to increase the number of smiles on children’s faces.

Assistance League Thrift Shop, 28720 Via Montezuma, in Temecula is its main fundraiser. Last year, chapter members volunteered over 31,000 hours of community service on behalf of local families in need. For more information about philanthropic programs or membership information, call (951) 694-8018 or visit http://www.assistanceleagye.or/temecula-valley/.
