Helpers are needed at the Holiday Shops at our two primary schools, Meade Heights and Georgetown East.
If you can help at Meade Heights, please e-mail Marty, indicating which day and which time period you can help. Any amount of time will be appreciated. If you can bring friends, please do so, but let me know how many will be with you.
If you can help at Georgetown East, please e-mail Linda to sign up for two-hour blocks of time.
Everyone can help both schools by collecting new or nearly-new items for the children to purchase, with their good behavior points. No Christmas decorations/items, please. This has been requested by the schools. Gifts for older boys and adult men are particularly needed, but no neck ties, please. Items can also be dropped off at either school.
On the day of the shop, volunteers help the students select their gifts, and wrap the treasures before they take them home. Those who have helped in the past can tell you what fun it is to share the joy the children feel that day.
What we need (all to be split between the two schools):
- Items for the shop
- Wrapping paper, tissue paper, ribbons, bows, etc.
- Bubble wrap
- Boxes, both gift box and small-medium shipping boxes, like ones Amazon uses
- Michele Kutta is donating over 700 plastic bags to our effort, but shopping bags are nice, if you have extras.
If you want us to take your items, Linda LaCroix and I will announce collection dates and sites in upcoming an Monday Minute. If you cannot bring your contributions on the collection dates, please bring them to the December 14 regular meeting.
Thank you!
