Assisteens® is an auxiliary of Assistance League of Everett. Middle school through high school seniors are encouraged to join. Participation in Assisteens develops a sense of civic responsibility by providing and assisting in various philanthropic events along with developing personal growth and leadership skills. It is an excellent way to make new friends as well as obtain community service hours.

Assisteens, guided by an Assisteens Coordinator and Board Liaison, appoint their chairmen, follow a budget, organize a fundraiser, volunteer with various community programs and assist the Chapter.  Assisteens provide a great opportunity to combine good times with rewarding experiences while making a valuable contribution to your community.

Fundraising

Funding for Assisteens programs comes from the proceeds of the annual spaghetti feed dinner, sales of raffle baskets and holiday wreaths. In addition, the Assisteens work in our Thrift  Shop to earn money to support these programs.

Philanthropic Programs

Tees for Teens:  Assisteens are proud and honored to manage the Tees for Teens program. There are kids in our community who can’t afford new clothes for school.  These students visit our Operation School Bell® program to select new clothing for school.  We raise funds all year to purchase tees and tops for those who visit Operation School Bell.

Grooming Kits:  Assisteens assemble approximately 4,000 grooming kits at our monthly meetings and other work parties to be distributed in Operation School Bell.

Other:

  • Valentine baskets for 3 – 4 year children living in sheltered housing
  • Making dog and cat blankets for the local animal shelter
  • Writing letters to military personnel
  • Providing a hot meal to young adults at Cocoon House
