There are no other programs across the nation offering an Infant Development Program (IDP) for developmentally delayed infants, prenatal to age 1 year. Originally named the Early Intervention Program (EIP), Assistance League of Laguna Beach stepped into that space over 50 years ago when a need was recognized for parents with babies born with special needs.
A professional staff of occupational and physical therapists, developmental teachers and behavioral specialists educate parents on how to exercise, stimulate, guide, play and care for their babies. There is no fee or cost to the families participating in the Early Intervention Program. Assistance League of Laguna Beach provides the facility and funds this outstanding program through proceeds from its Thrift shop, from grants and cash donations.
We believe that family participation is the key to success in providing early intervention services. Therefore, we provide families with the “hands-on” experience to guide them in furthering their child’s developmental opportunities. Our professional staff of occupational and physical therapists, developmental teachers and behavioral specialists make specific recommendations for each child to ensure his or her optimal development.
