Boy giving the thumbs-up sign

On 07 November, Assistance League of Northern Virginia hosted its second, “Build A Child’s Library” event. The Scholastic Literacy Partnership Program and Assistance League of Northern Virginia selected 581 age appropriate books for every student in a school to take home for their very own library. So many smiling, eager, and most appreciative faces of the children were a delight to see. Inside the cover of their book was a stamped notation: “this book belongs to” where Assistance League volunteers assisted the children to write their name. Kudos to the school staff and all the volunteers who made this heartwarming event one that the children will remember.
