We are privileged to have been selected to receive a generous grant from The Cecil & Irene Hylton Foundation in support of our Weekend Food for Kids program. Their grant will allow us to continue to provide weekend food for less-advantaged students enrolled in our program, at a partner school in Prince William County, for an entire school year.

With considerable support from the Foundation since 2018, we are making great strides in our commitment to transforming lives and strengthening our communities. Through our program that addresses childhood hunger, we provide bags of nonperishable food items for low-income students to take home on weekends when school meals are not available. Having this reliable source of nutritious food improves the students’ well-being and increases their chances for success in school.

The Cecil & Irene Hylton Foundation has a rich history in Prince William and has supported nonprofits that serve the Woodbridge and surrounding communities since 1989, giving primarily for hospitals, education, human services, and to a performing arts center and a boys and girls club.

We are extremely grateful for the Hylton family’s strong commitment to Assistance League’s mission as well as to the Prince William community.
