In late August, members of Assistance League of Northern Virginia met at the home of one of our members and assembled 79 Layettes to be given to low-income mothers.  The Layettes included knitted and crocheted blankets and baby hats, onesies, and socks, packaged with care by our members.

We are thankful for the help of a group of ladies at The Virginian retirement home in Fairfax, VA, as well as residents of the Dunbarton retirement community in Bristow, VA.  Both groups spent many hours creating these beautiful hand-made Layette items.

Our members delivered the Layettes to an Inova Cares OB/GYN clinic shortly after they were packed.  This is the first time since the outbreak of Covid -19, almost two years ago, that Assistance League has been able to make this very important delivery to the clinic.  Our contact at Inova said that the mothers who receive these Layettes will be thrilled to get them, as so many had lost their jobs and homes as a result of the pandemic.
