Our members were elated to be able to hold a Weekend Food for Kids food-packing event this month, after a 2-year hiatus. We were joined by employees of our long-time partner for this program, Dominion Energy Virginia. Experienced food-packers were joined by new volunteers and, in a little more than an hour, the 80 attendees packed 1660 bags of food that were placed in large paper bags for delivery the same day to six elementary schools in Northern Virginia.

Unfortunately, because of the uncertainties posed by the Corona virus, we don’t expect that our food packings for the remainder of the school year will be open to the public.
