Members Collecting got sneakers bags
We are delighted by the success of our GotSneakers campaign, which we launched in January.  GotSneakers.com compensates nonprofit organizations for the sneakers they collect.  Athletic shoes in good condition are provided to individuals all over the world who can’t afford quality footwear.  Sneakers that are not suitable are recycled and used in paving materials.
For every month since January, the number of sneakers we’ve collected has increased as has the number of collection boxes.  We’ve recently recruited several businesses to collect sneakers for us, and we thank them for helping us raise funds that will support our philanthropic programs.  Two Jazzercize facilities, in Herdon-Reston and Falls Church, have set up collection boxes for their members, as have the Burke Racquet Club and the Fairfax Racquet Club.  We greatly appreciate their support and thank them for all the sneakers they’ve accumulated for us.  One group recently delivered 80 pairs of sneakers.
If you have gently used sneakers to donate, contact a volunteer near you to locate the closest collection box: Burke:  burke@alnv.org; Chantilly/Fairfax: fairfax.chantilly@alnv.org; Fairfax:  fairfax@alnv.org; Herndon: herndon@alnv.org; Oakton: oakton@alnv.orgOak Hill: oakhill@alnv.org;  and Springfield: springfield@alnv.org.  Your donation of gently used sneakers will help us raise funds for programs that serve children and families in need, and will keep old sneakers out of landfills and help the environment.  Please note, that we can only accept SNEAKERS.  NO CLEATS, CROCS, OR FLIP-FLOPS.
