Assistance League of Northern Virginia is honored to be selected again as the beneficiary of a program to combat hunger in our community by Giant Food. During the month of January, as part of Giant Food’s Community Bag Program, our chapter will receive $1 for each purchase of a $2.50 reusable grocery bag at the Giant Food store on 621 Glebe Road, Alexandria.  Giant Food has several efforts to reduce food-insecurity and make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work. In the past few months, several other Giant Food stores selected our chapter to benefit from the Bloomin’ 4 Good program and we are gratified that another Giant Food store has recognized the difference we make in the community through our Weekend Food for Kids Program. Giant’s Community Bag Program will help us spread the word about Assistance League and our efforts to reduce food-insecurity in Northern Virginia
