A devoted group gathered again recently to pack 1720 bags of shelf-stable food to ensure that students at six Title 1 schools in Fairfax and Prince William Counties don’t go hungry on weekends. With nearly 70 volunteers from Assistance League, Dominion Energy, and the community, the squad was able to pack the much-needed food bags in about an hour, after which the bags were loaded into trucks and delivered to the schools. Among the community volunteers who helped with our Weekend Food for Kids program were friends from our long-time supporter, RBH Global Wealth Management, and a team of four first-timers from the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce. We are grateful for their support.
All who participate in these joyous events are united in their dedication to this important program
Those feelings are evident in the video that NBC4 Washington recently aired about our February food packing. We thank NBC4 for its recognition of our efforts to provide critical help to students in need. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/volunteers-pack-bags-of-food-for-local-kids-in-need/3546136
