Assistance League of Northern Virginia continues our ongoing celebration of our 20th year as a chapter of the National Assistance League organization. This anniversary is a wonderful opportunity to mark our many years of service providing programs to improve the well-being of children in need.  Our celebration includes a featured wish list each month targeting a specific program area. We are very grateful to our many supporters who donated underwear and socks in January and books in February and made those campaigns so successful.

For March, our focus is on basic sweatpants and leggings in a range of sizes for elementary school boys and girls. Children are always growing and families with limited resources are often unable to afford new clothes to replace ones that have been outgrown. Join us in our anniversary celebration by purchasing sweatpants and leggings to keep up with that growth. Remember that every act of giving, no matter how big or small, holds the power to shape a better world.

Bob Kovacs recently produced a brief video of our clothing program highlighting the variety of items we provide to the eight Title 1 schools we serve. We have delivered more than 1000 clothing items to those schools, including winter jackets, hats, gloves, sweat pants, long-sleeved shirts, underwear, and socks. We are very grateful for the video, which summarizes the importance of our clothing program, and to Bob for his expertise and dedication. We invite you to view the video and then make your clothing donations!
