That African proverb emphasizes that a child thrives in a safe, healthy environment supported by multiple people like family, teachers, friends and community.

We partner with volunteers from Dominion Energy and other community helpers to support our “Weekend Food For Kids” program.  Each month we package 1900 bags of non-perishable food items for children in area Title 1 elementary schools to take home over the weekend, helping to combat food insecurity.

This month, we welcomed community volunteers including Christine Angeles and her team  from Allstate Insurance, Peterson Companies, Nativity Church, RBH Global Wealth Partners, and Hassinger/Armm Association. The event kicked off with the presentation of a check by Christine from the Allstate Foundation for $10,000 to help support our WFFK program, proving that it truly does take a village.  We are very grateful for Allstate’s continuing support.
