We partner with Title 1 elementary schools throughout Northern Virginia to serve students in low-income households with limited resources. We help students at these schools develop a love of reading and a sense of pride in owning books of their own through our ‘Build A Child’s Library’ program. These events are held once a year at our partner schools, where every student in the school gets to choose a book that interests them.
You can share in the delight these students experience in choosing their books by making your own selections from our December wish list that features a wide range of books. Use this link: https://tiny.alnv.org/7gs or scan the QR code on the flyer to make your selections. Choose Assistance League of Northern Virginia as the shipping address to ensure prompt delivery. If you prefer not to order through Amazon, you can pay by personal check for your selected items. Send your check, made out to ALNV, to P.O. Box 209, Herndon, VA 20172, and include “Wish List/month” in the memo line. (E.g., if you order in December, please write Wish List/December.
Many of the students served have few books of their own. The gift of a good book is a wonderful way to help a child in need during this season of giving. Learn more about Assistance League’s programs elsewhere on this site.
