Thanks to our corporate partnership with Intelsat, we feed more hungry children in need every month during the school year.  We are thrilled to announce that our partnership with this leader in integrated satellite communications will continue throughout the 2018-19 school year.

Since October 2015, leadership at Intelsat in McLean, VA has strongly supported our primary Operation School Bell program, Weekend Food for Kids (WFFK), by providing in-kind donations in excess of $28,000.

Through its hands-on volunteer program, Intelsat purchases selected nonperishable foods and holds an on-site packing event, attended by employees across its organization, to assemble 150 bags of food each month.  These bags are then donated to our WFFK program and delivered by our volunteers to food-insecure elementary school children in one of the 6 Title I schools that we serve.  This summer, Intelsat’s generous year-round support has allowed us to make the WFFK program available to students who have been attending summer school programs at Loch Lomond Elementary School in Manassas.

We admire Intelsat’s corporate philosophy of “giving back globally on a local basis” and appreciate its leadership and commitment to our community.  Thank you, Intelsat, for serving as a role model for other corporations in partnering with our all-volunteer nonprofit.
