The Assisteens Auxiliary of Assistance League of Orange was honored by Ronald McDonald House at the 2024 OneOC Spirit of Volunteerism Awards at the National Grove of Anaheim on April 25th. On hand to receive the recognition were (L to R) Assisteens leadership team members Ginny Abell, Robin Lyall, and Deena Arnold, along with league President Sandra Kosin. Assisteens and their parent volunteers have been serving dinners to families at the local Ronald McDonald House in Orange for over 20 years. It is one of the most enthusiastically supported philanthropies of the auxiliary’s numerous outreach efforts, engaging dozens of members each year. Teen volunteers even went the extra mile to serve meals to Ronald McDonald House families who were being housed in hotels during the pandemic and more recently during extensive remodeling and expansion of the facility in Orange.
