Conejo Valley – Nonprofit of the Year

Marilyn Adam shared a heartwarming personal story during the introduction of the Nonprofit of the Year award acceptance at the Recognition Gala hosted by the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce.  It demonstrated how life goes full circle.  Fifteen years ago her two year old daughter Allison was comforted by one of our Share-A-Bears at the hospital following a head injury.  The “CASEY” bear became her favorite stuffed animal for many years.  Today, Allison and her sister Erica, are Assisteens® and their mother Marilyn Adam is a member.  Our CASEY bear- “Caring and Sharing Enriches You” is one of the ways we serve in our community.  Thousands of bears have been given to those in stress or in need of comfort since the program’s inception 19 years ago.
