Guidelines for Consigning Jewelry

  • Do bring us costume and/or fine jewelry priced at about $35 to $3,000.
  • If Jewelry is to be priced between $1,500 and $3,000 and includes diamonds/gemstones, please bring a recent appraisal. Important note: items typically sell at around 50% of market value appraisal, so an item appraised for $6,000 would typically be priced around $3,000.
  • Do clean, polish and inspect your jewelry for broken, loose or missing components (i.e. missing or loose stones, bent prongs etc.). We happily accept pieces for consignment that are in “excellent used condition” meaning they have no missing or damaged components.
  • Do research your jewelry and have an idea of its value if possible before you bring it in. We can assist you if you are unsure of a piece’s value.  Please remember that process can take time, and it means we may take fewer items due to time constraints.
  • Do allow about 75 minutes for the appointments, and expect us to have adequate time to process about 10-13 items for consignment.
  • Do bring previously consigned items that didn’t sell only after a minimum of six months has passed since the last consignment (with the tags from the previous consignment still attached if possible).
  • If you have questions about a particular item, i.e. are not sure how much something might sell for, DO reach out to our Jewelry team in advance via email to: consignment@algpdx.org with a photo and your question(s). Please place “Jewelry Team Inquiry” in the RE: line.
