Membership is open to any person interested in giving back to the Houston community.

Membership Levels and Requirements


 Attend 4 out of the 8 General Meetings
 Work twelve shifts per year at the Thrift Shop
 Participate in and support the philanthropic programs and fundraising activities of the chapter
 Pay annual dues of $100


 Open to spouses or partners of Assistance League of Houston members
 May not vote or hold office
 May participate in all philanthropic programs and fundraising activities of the chapter
 There are no minimum service-hour requirements for PALS, but their hours are counted toward the total Assistance League community service- hours.


 Must work (6) Thrift Shop shifts per year
 Encouraged to participate in and support the philanthropic programs and fundraising activities of the chapter
 Pay annual dues of $125


 Open to high school students in grades 9-12 who are eager to contribute to their community

Community Volunteer

Not quite sure you’re ready to become a member? No problem! Try us out by becoming a Community Volunteer.

As a Community Volunteer you will work in the Thrift Shop processing donations, assist on the sales floor supporting the cashier and help merchandise clothes, shoes, housewares. You also may help with Operation School Bell. You may volunteer as much or as little as your schedule permits.
