OPERATION SCHOOL BELL®

Building Confidence

No one wants to wear their poverty.

It’s a painful reality but many young school children in Houston don’t have appropriate clothes to wear to school. Once a year, local school districts refer families to us for help.  Having new clothes to wear to school boosts a student’s self-esteem and excitement about going to school, which translates to academic success.

We provide more than a new wardrobe, we empower young students to reach their full potential.

Operation School Bell®, the national philanthropic program of Assistance League, exists to assist families experiencing difficulty by providing new clothes for public school children. Here in Houston, it serves students from Houston Independent School District (ISD), Spring Branch ISD, Alief ISD, and Harris County Head Start.  Assistance League of Houston supplies the students with school clothes and school supplies from Amazon and  Uniform Super Store.
