The Assistance League of North Coast was selected as the outstanding nonprofit during the “Heroes of Vista” 12th year annual celebration. Vista is one of three cities where the nonprofit provides shoes, school clothing, coats, blankets, books and scholarships to low income children who are referred by their schools.
The nonprofit also received Certificates of Commendation from the Vista City Council, Supervisor Jim Desmond, Congressman Mike Levin, Assemblywoman Laurie Davies and Senator Catherine Blakespear recognizing the group “for making a difference in home, school and community with sincerity and passion.”
The nonprofit’s efforts are supported by 160 members along with donors, sponsors and volunteers who gave over 25,000 hours of service last year.
