Realtors help Assistance League buy new shoes for local school kids in need

The Assistance League of North Coast received $1,000 from Berkshire Hathaway Charitable Foundation to help children in need in Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista. The money donated by Berkshire Hathaway is earmarked for the League’s Footstep program. Last year Footsteps provided 2,000 elementary school children with 2,000 pairs of shoes and 11,000 pairs of socks along with health kits filled with soap, shampoo and toothbrushes.

The San Diego Chapter of The Charitable Foundation has granted nearly $20,000 to local nonprofits so far this year.
