In honor of National Volunteer Week, consider joining Assistance League of Northern Virginia and feel the special warmth that comes from knowing you’ve made a difference in a child’s life.   Come to an informal information session on Wednesday, April 27, from 1:30 to 3 pm, at the Burke Center Library, 5935 Freds Oak Road, Burke.  A few of our members will be on hand to discuss our primary programs — Weekend Food for Kids, New Clothing for Kids, Literacy for Kids, and Operation Hugs — that support the most vulnerable in Northern Virginia.

As a member, you can experience firsthand the sense of accomplishment that results from knowing you’ve made a difference.  You can help us pack food bags, toiletry kits, and Hugs Pillows.  Or you can provide individualized reading tutoring to young students.  Come and learn about all we do or check our website (www.alnv.org) for information on our philanthropic programs and about joining our team of caring and committed volunteers.
