Meeting the basic needs of children in low-income schools we serve

Celebrating Community

Our 20th Anniversary may be over, but our mission to help our community is still going strong. We invite the public to share in helping and celebrating our community by making contributions from our monthly wish lists.

The weather is starting to cool and we’re getting into fall, so it’s time to trade-in those flip-flops for proper shoes. And what should you wear with shoes? Socks! Join us as we ensure those feet stay nice and warm with our SOCKtoberfest wishlist at https://tiny.alnv.org/5lq.

To make sure it gets to the right place in a timely fashion, please remember to select Assistance League of Northern Virginia as the shipping address! Thank you for your invaluable contribution to a child’s education.

We are pleased to announce that we have launched our annual sale of Official White House ornaments.  The funds we raise are used to provide food, clothing, sneakers, books, toiletries, and other essentials to elementary school students in low-income families. Help yourself to some holiday cheer and help us continue supporting our students.

Our price is lower than some other major retailers, and we offer free local delivery.

Thanks for Giving

During this season of gratitude, we want to thank the many long-time supporters and first-time donors who participated in our Giving Tuesday campaign this year.  We recognize that many in our area are facing serious economic struggles and we are very grateful for the generosity of those who contributed.  That generosity reinforces our commitment to […]

TODAY IS THE DAY!

Join Giving Tuesday’s global generosity movement by making a donation TODAY and feel the power that your generosity can generate. This year, a greater percentage of our neighbors are struggling.  Costs are rising for food, clothing, and other essentials. The families and students we serve have felt that impact acutely.  Similarly, the costs we incur […]

Good Books!

We partner with Title 1 elementary schools throughout Northern Virginia to serve students in low-income households with limited resources.  We help students at these schools develop a love of reading and a sense of pride in owning books of their own through our ‘Build A Child’s Library’ program.  These events are held once a year […]
