Our Weekend Food for Kids program was another success this month.  Assistance League members were joined by staff of Dominion Energy, our long-time partner in this effort.  We packed 1,900 bags of nonperishable food in less than an hour, helped by a team from Springfield Golf and Country Club, where we will hold our Italian Dinner and Live Music Fundraiser on January 9.  We were also joined by other community volunteers representing RBH Global Wealth Partners, Didlake, Crossroads Connections, and Nativity Church Craft Club, among others.  The volunteers’ enjoyment of this important program was enhanced by the seasonal music playing in the background.

After the bags were packed, they were loaded onto Dominion trucks and delivered to six Title 1 elementary schools in Fairfax and Prince William counties.  The weekend food bags help ensure that students arrive at school ready to learn and thrive.
