Who We Are

Assistance League of Bend is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization making a difference in the lives of children and adults dealing with poverty and cancer in Deschutes County.  We serve the community through a number of philanthropic programs which include new school clothes for students facing adversity, personal care items for low-income seniors, and handmade hats for cancer patients.

Assistance League of Bend’s Operation School Bell® Gives Children the Confidence to Succeed

50% of Children Enrolled in Deschutes County Schools Qualify For Free or Reduced Lunch

Through Operation School Bell, Assistance League of Bend has proudly been providing school clothing and emergency clothing bundles to low-income children since 1991. Rising inflation can present hurdles for families struggling to make ends meet. New clothes, warm jackets, and shoes that fit are proven to boost a child’s self-esteem and help them feel more engaged in the classroom. Each year we provide clothing to more than 2,600 local children. Assistance League of Bend is the leading provider of clothing in Deschutes County.

2024 Emergency Food & Shelter Grant

Assistance League of Bend is honored to have been chosen as a recipient of United Way of Deschutes County’s recent 2024 Emergency Food & Shelter Grant. The generous funds will be used to provide clothing to local children living in poverty.

Rosell Wealth Management James A. Lee Community Gift Fund Grant

The James A. Lee Community Gift Fund was established in 2022 by Rosell Wealth Management in honor of longtime Bend resident, active community member and former executive director of Abilitree, Jim Lee. Each year, a percentage of RWM’s profits are allocated to the fund.
