Who We Are

Assistance League of Bend is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization making a difference in the lives of children and adults dealing with poverty, homelessness, and cancer in Deschutes County.  We serve the community through a number of philanthropic programs which include new school clothes for students living in poverty, memory books for foster children, personal care items for low-income seniors, and handmade hats for cancer patients and the homeless.

Transforming Lives • Strengthening Community

COMMITTED TO MEETING ESSENTIAL NEEDS
Although some of our programs and fundraising efforts are on hold due to COVID-19, we remain committed to meeting the essential needs of students by creating new ways to deliver clothing, technology and supplies in a safe and effective manner.

“POP-UP” DISTRIBUTION EVENTS
Assistance League of Bend will be providing free socks and underwear to over 1200 students in October as Phase 1 of Operation School Bell ® 2020. We are teaming up with local school districts at their free lunch sites to distribute the clothing to families in need. Click here for “Pop-Up” Distribution dates, times and locations.

COMMUNITY ASSESSMENT SURVEY
Assistance League of Bend would like to hear from local families in order to identify their greatest needs. If you have school age children in Deschutes County, please click here to complete the confidential 3-minute Community Assessment Survey and help us determine what to include in future “pop-up” distribution events.

MATCHING GRANT
Our largest fundraisers have been postponed due to the pandemic greatly impacting our ability to fund Operation School Bell. A private family foundation has generously committed to MATCH DONATIONS between $100 and $5,000, up to $20,000, to provide clothing and essential needs for local school children, DOUBLING THE IMPACT OF YOUR DONATION.
