Above and Beyond Service Award 2026

Nominations are now being accepted for the chapter’s Above and Beyond Awards.  Criteria for this award are:

  • A chapter member for at least three complete years.
  • Has not previously received award (see list below).
  • Must have exceeded expected contribution to the chapter in program and resource development.  The committee will review a three-year compilation of hours contributed.
  • Must be in good standing with hours, dues, meeting attendance, fundraiser support, and program contributions.

Nominations must be received by  April 15, 2026.  Nominations should be submitted electronically (using form below).

If you are unable to submit the form electronically, please pick up a form for the appropriate award in the workroom and respond to the criteria listed.  Upon completion:

    • place in the Above & Beyond cubby in the workroom in a sealed envelope, or
    • mail to arrive by April 15 to Jo McCollum, 29634 Terra Bella, Fair Oaks Ranch TX 78015, or
    • email to jomccollum427@gmail.com – send the completed nomination form as an email attachment.

Members who have already received this award and have continued to go above and beyond in their service to the chapter can be nominated for an Exemplary Service Award.

Above and Beyond-Exemplary Service Award 2026

The nominee has previously received the Above and Beyond Award.  Previous awardees are on the list under Above and Beyond.

Since receiving the Above and Beyond Award, the nominee has continued  to significantly serve the chapter in programs and/or resource development activities.

National Ada Edwards Laughlin Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the National Ada Edwards Laughlin Award to be given at the annual meeting in May.  This award is named for the co-founder of Assistance League who was less visible and filled the role of hardworking “behind the scenes” assistant to Anne Banning.

The nominee should be an “unsung heroine,” a chapter member who has been a member for a significant number of years having outstanding service in a relatively inconspicuous way.

No more than one member may be the recipient in a fiscal year; no member may receive the award more than one time.  Previous Above and Beyond or Exemplary Service award not required.

National Anne Banning Leadership Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the National Anne Banning Leadership Award to be given at the annual meeting in May.

The Anne Banning Leadership Award is named after the founder of Assistance League, who promoted the growth of effective volunteerism through leadership and education.  This award demonstrates the importance and value of leadership to Assistance League chapters, as well as to communicate the accomplishments and dedication of the recipient.

The award shall recognize members who have served in major leadership roles and have:

  • Demonstrated sustained enthusiasm, guidance and participation in chapter programs and activities;
  • Led in the creation of a new chapter program or initiative and/or in the significant modification or enhancement of a current chapter program or initiative;
  • Modeled personal commitment to the mission and values of the chapter;
  • Represented the chapter mission and values in the community.

  • The nominee should be an “unsung heroine,” a chapter member who has been a member for a significant number of years having outstanding service in a relatively inconspicuous way.

  • This award is a unique award to a nominee who has demonstrated outstanding leadership over their time as a nominee of the organization. Please use the areas below to describe how the nominee meets the award criteria. This award is to honor a nominee who has provided specific leadership to the organization. This nominee’s actions should be: in leading the creation of a new chapter program or initiative, and/or in significant growth modification or in implementing or enhancing a current chapter initiative such as in the areas of programs, membership, resource development, finance or marketing.
