Operation School Bell®

Elementary students in need, Kindergarten through 5th grade, are brought to Assistance League to “shop” for brand new clothing.  They all leave with a huge bag of new clothes, wide grins and a renewed sense of confidence.

CAPS (Caps Art Promotes Smiles)

Baseball caps and bucket hats are decorated and delivered to hospitals for children undergoing chemotherapy.

Scholarship Program

Scholarships are awarded to students entering their junior or senior year of a four-year college or university in Bexar County.

Enhanced Learning Awards

In an environment where school budgets provide for basic needs, these awards are most welcome!  They are given to schools or individual teachers to fund a learning experience the children would not otherwise have.

Watch Me Grow

A bilingual parent’s guide to the developmental stages of a child from birth to five years old is distributed through the Tog For Tots program, to teen pregnancy classes, pregnancy centers, doctors office and hospitals.  The booklet includes nutritional information, development stages, and an immunization record.

Togs For Tots

Working through social agencies, infants through pre-K are provided clothing, personal care kits and age appropriate books.

Adopt A Resident

Adults living in Morningside Ministries’ Chandler Assisted Living and Chandler Healthcare home enjoy weekly game days, monthly birthday parties, a spring fashion show and a holiday Angel Tree.

I’m In Charge

This safety program is presented in elementary schools by member volunteers.  Topics covered are being safe when home alone, responding to strangers, gun safety, bullying and cyber-bullying.
